The sheer joy of decorating our sanctuary during Holy Week! Easter services are at 5:45, 9, and 11 AM.
Many thanks to our hardworking Church Family Life Committee and our Christian Education Committee for hosting an All Church Brunch during the 10:00 a.m. hour on March 31st. In addition to great food and fellowship, adult Sunday School classes sat together and discussed the story of the Prodigal Son. Both our children and adults had the opportunity to reflect on the story with craft and other activities.
Journey to the Cross and Beyond: A Holy Week Pilgrimage Travel through 14 stations in Benigna Auditorium and find personal meaning in Jesus’ life, death, and resurrection. At each station, you will find a scripture passage, reflection, and something to do in response like rubbing ointment on your hand, eating bread, nailing a regret on a cross, or savoring sweet fruit. Journey to the Cross will be open during the morning and early afternoon on Wednesday and then for an hour before four of our Holy Week services. For Wednesday daytime hours, please come to the lower level of the CE Building and begin the Journey in Nitschmann Hall. For all other hours and days, please come to the foyer on the first floor of the CE Building and begin the Journey there. Wednesday, April 17th ~ 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, April 17th ~ 5:45 to 6:45 p.m. Thursday, April 18th ~ 5:45 – 6:45 p.m. Friday, April 19th ~ 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. Saturday, April 20th ~ 1:45 to 2:45 p.m.
Infants through 5th graders - join us for Friday Fun Night tonight, April 12th, 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. Have fun together remembering stories about Jesus, singing songs, doing crafts, playing games, and making friends. Parents, enjoy a night out! Infants, toddlers and preschoolers, come to the first floor of the Christian Education Building. Parents of infants and toddlers should bring food appropriate for their children. Kindergarten through 5th graders, come to the lower level of the CE Building through the kitchen door. Supper will be served for Preschoolers through 5th graders.

Prodigal Son Sunday, March 31, 2019. Join us in Nitschmann Hall for brunch at 10:00 a.m. and discussion about the Story of the Loving Father and Two Troublesome Sons from Luke 15:11-32. Activities will also be set up around the edge of the room for both children and adults including the opportunity to reflect on Rembrandt's painting of the Prodigal Son, view Balanchine's ballet based on the story, and explore the feelings in the story with emojis.
You are never to young to come to Wednesday Lenten dinners and programs! Last week, we had a great time with Pastors Paul Silwamba and Hopeton Clennon telling us about Moravian Mission and Traditions in Zambia and the Caribbean. This week, we will be hearing from our Moravian brothers and sisters in Nepal from Craig Mosebach. Supper will be provided by the Joint Board.
Chamber Music in the Chapel presents Two-Part Invention on Sunday, March 24 at 2 pm. Enjoy flutist, Nora Suggs and classical guitarist, John Arnold as they present a delightful program. All are welcome!
Join us for Friendship Day, March 17th, at Central Moravian Church. Members of our Children's Sunday School class, preschool through 5th graders, are encouraged to bring friends and their families to be part of our Sunday School experience from 10:00 to 10:45 a.m. in the lower level of the Christian Education building.
Join us Wednesday, March 20th in the lower level of the Christian Education Building for our third of six Lenten suppers and programs on Moravian Mission and Tradition. Supper is at 6:00 p.m. and the program starts at 7:00 p.m. This week, Lyn Chynoweth who grew up in Kwethluk, Alaska, the daughter (and granddaughter) of Moravian missionaries, will reflect on the history and traditions of Moravians in Alaska, from her personal experience as well as the stories learned from her parents and grandparents. Supper provided by the Men's Bible Study and Church Family Life Committee.
Are you concerned about an elderly loved one? Are you thinking about your own care as you grow older? Join us for a seminar offered by Moravian Star Living entitled, "Are You Becoming a Parent to Your Parents?" on March 24th in the church sanctuary after the 11:00 a.m. service. This seminar will address warning signs that indicate loved ones need assistance and point out care options for them both in the home and the larger community. Sue Himmelreich, RSN, MSN Outreach Specialist will be our speaker. Reservations are appreciated but not required. Please call the church office, 610-866-5661.
Our next Friday Night Fun for Infants, Toddlers, Preschoolers, and Kindergarten through 5th grade children will be on March 22nd in the Christian Education Building, 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. We have a kid-friendly supper, bible story, and related music, art, games, and other activities. These dedicated youth departed with Pastor Hopeton at 3:30 this morning to do the Lord’s work as they use their hands and their hearts to serve and mission at Camp Hope in Jamaica.
The Chamber Music Concert that was to be held tomorrow (Sunday, March 3) will be cancelled due to the impending snow storm. The concert featuring Two-Part Invention will be reschedule later this spring and the new date will be shared on our Facebook page, Constant Contact, and our website.
Yesterday, we spoke about "Love" as first among equals. Join us next Sunday at 9am or 11am for our focus on "Faith".
